El presente continuo en inglés se utiliza para expresar acciones que suceden en el momento de hablar.

La estructura del presente continuo es la siguiente:

To be + verbo en gerundio

El verbo “to be” adopta el significado de estar y los verbos en gerundio se formarán como norma general con terminación en –ing.

Vamos a ver las formas afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa (utilizaremos el verbo comer, to eat)

Afirmativa

I am eating /I’m eating

You are eating/ You’re eating

He is eating/ He’s eating

She is eating/ She’s eating

It is eating/ It’s eating

We are eating/ We’re eating

You are eating/ You’re eating

They are eating/ They’re eating

Negativa

I am not eating

You are not eating

He/she/it is not eating

We are not eating

You are not eating

They are not eating

Interrogativa

Am I eating?
